At this point the prezi that I have put together is a rough skeleton of what I hope to have accomplished by the end of the presentation. I have included various types of alterations to the photographs because I would like the denoted message of the image to read a certain way, but I am not quite sure if I was able to get the point that I wanted to across.
The idea is that some of the images are to appear very clear as if they are lucid, in the moment events and then others have hazy edges and the images themselves I tried to soften the edges to give an almost dream-like state to them.
Conceptually I want the overall message of the slideshow to be a view of fiction v. reality and how individually we each have different perceptions of our own realities. So I try to do that from the point of a young woman with schizophrenia using the poem “Dream Within a Dream” by Edgar Allan Poe as a guide, but that isn’t realized until the end of the presentation.
I am concerned with my arrangement of the photographs and lack of text, because when looking at it with the rhetorical triangle I am the photographer and I know what I would like my audience to see, but I am not quite sure if they would understand it the way that I am currently presenting the subject matter.
Tuesday 4-17-12
After showing and discussing my presentation with a few friends, I went back and took constructive suggestions that I had been given and I re-edited some of my photographs and re-arranged/took out some of the existing images, and I also added more text to the presentation.
First, rather than having all of the “Reality” photographs after presenting all of the “Fantasy” I edited some of the fantasy images to look like they were being skewed or sort of rupturing and then clipped in bits of the reality.
Then I added ambiguous text from the poem that helps push the thought flow that I am trying to get from the viewers of my presentation.
